Roof Farming?

Here is a recent article from The New York Times about a project to grow vegetables on the roof of a six-story building in Queens:

Six Stories Above Queens, a Fine Spot for a Little Farming

I find it interesting that this is actually a for-profit venture...It would be interesting to see what comes of it.

  1. Roof top gardening is widely practiced in the cities in India. My friend grows tomatoes, eggplant, papaya and figs as well as herbs and flowers in his roof garden. One has to be careful about watering.

  2. Love the idea of planting on the roof. I wish our place was structurally set up for it. Matti
