Accidental Elegance

Yet another picture sent by my mom from back home, this one of a blossoming sprig of the white-flowering perennial sweet pea (Lathyrus latifolius) that she accidentally cut and then decided to place in a vase in the dining room:

I think this rustic and carefree garden flower ended up looking rather refined and elegant in this new context. The effect would have probably been quite different if instead of this green-tinged white my seed-grown plants had produced the more common pink or pinkish-purple flowers.
