Surprise Azalea

The best of significant others went grocery shopping the other day, and he came back not just with jugs of milk and bags of kale but also with a pot of pink double azaleas for me.

Florist's azalea (Rhododendron simsii cv.) - the little bush actually consists of multiple cuttings, some with deep reddish pink flowers and some blooming in a lighter shade

Sometimes I truly am spoiled... :)

  2. Looks so beautiful. I have ever grown azalea like yours, but the fire ant made the plant died.

    1. I have never been able to keep this kind of azalea long either; they cannot stand trying out even briefly. Other hardier kinds of azaleas generally grow quite well in gardens here, although this very cold winter and the unusual amount of snow have left many of them rather battered.
